ZFA Structural Engineers

Since 1974, ZFA Structural Engineers (ZFA) has collaborated with architects, developers, owners, and public agencies to help build high-quality public and private sector projects throughout Northern California. With a staff of nearly 100 people, ZFA has fully integrated offices in San Francisco, Silicon Valley, Santa Rosa, Napa, and Sacramento. Our team includes 26 licensed Structural Engineers and 22 Professional Engineers.

ZFA’s expertise is built on providing structural engineering solutions for both new and existing structures in a variety of market sectors. Our range of project experience includes:

• Civic Institutions and Essential Services (city/county facilities, libraries, courthouses, civic centers, transit facilities, emergency operations centers, fire stations, and police stations)

ZFA is an active participant in design-build projects, having completed numerous facilities with this delivery method, including three award-winning projects: the 31,000-square-foot Los Banos Police Station, the 120,000-square-foot American AgCredit bank headquarters building in Santa Rosa, and the 75,000-square-foot Enclave UC Berkeley student housing building. Our approach of strong collaboration and embracing early engagement with the project team has proven to provide structurally efficient designs that maximize value, while preserving flexibility for the DBE.
