Description: OC/LA Luncheon Presentation: JOINT EVENT - DBIA/LCI LUNCHEON PROGRAM: LEAN AND DESIGN-BUILD, A RECENT HEALTHCARE CASE STUDY. Lean begins with the development of the team that runs and implements the project -- from the newest engineer to the executives. To be successful, lean requires a mindset that goes beyond solving problems or making things more efficient. Our presentation will demonstrate how the design/build team on the $228 million St Jude Northwest Tower project in Fullerton, California took lean to a new level. The St Jude’s D/B Team will share lessons learned from our approach to integrating a team into a 2014 technology-progressive jobsite while increasing productivity and decreasing waste. The team’s approach to lean is unique and innovative due to the extent it was used on this complex healthcare project and the positive impact it has had for all project stakeholders.
