Description: LA Breakfast presentation, "HOW DESIGN-BUILD ACCELERATES WATER PROJECTS TO RESPOND TO THE CALIFORNIA DROUGHT," with the following speakers:
Being in the middle of a severe drought; water reuse and the possibility of more indirect and direct potable reuse projects are getting more and more attention. As such, it is foreseeable that some of the projects planned
(and maybe some not in the planning stages) in the 5 year plus time frame might be accelerated due to the need for water, and/or as well as any new political champions pushing the effort. With the approval of Prop 1, there is now a competition for the approved funds amongst various agencies and private parties. Part of the reviewing and selection of projects to receive the Prop 1 funding is how close they are to being shovel ready. In this light, we will hear the Agencies’ plans to develop local supplies through a number of methods, and how they will utilize innovative delivery methods like Design-Build to accelerate projects.
