Time: 7:30AM - 9:30AM

Description LA Breakfast presentation, "DESIGN-BUILD BEST PRACTICES" with the following speakers:

  • Rebekah Gladson - President, rggroup global
  • Barbara Wagner - Sr. Vice President, Clark Construction
  • Greg Gidez - DBIA AIA, Director of Design Services, Hensel Phelps
  • Robert Green - Project Executive, Rosendin Electric, Inc.

• Nationally, Design-Build is growing as a project delivery method. To many, Design Build is the preferred method of project delivery for its ability to deliver innovative projects faster, at less cost, at higher quality, and with less litigation.

• Research suggests design build is more cost effective, faster to market, and provides better value to owners. With the maturing of integrated technologies of virtual design and construction (VDC), collaborative relationships such as design build will continue to grow as Owners look for better value in their projects.

• Design-Build may be an unfamiliar project delivery method for many owners, builders and designers. Misconceptions on the process including contracting considerations and project execution make some practitioners wary about engaging in a Design Build project. The presentation seeks to debunk myths about Design Build and inform the owner and practitioners on Design Build Best Practices. The presentation will discuss techniques, methods, and processes that if applied will be more effective at delivering a successful outcome for the team.
